Recent Reception

A reception was held at Durham Museum on 29th May 2022 – “Oak Apple Day”, the anniversary of the Restoration of Monarchy in 1660 when Charles II was restored to the throne following the death of Cromwell. A Crab Apple tree was planted to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

The Reception also celebrated the completion of the Museum Garden Project and thanked Dennis & Jo Jones for their long and distinguished service to Durham Museum.

Below are some photos of the occasion.

The Museum Garden Project was funded with grants from Durham County Council, The James Knott Trust, and Museum Development North-East.
